Why do reviews keep saying it doesn't cover ticks, when it has ticks listed in one of the many things it prevents? Does it or does it not?

Before Using Stronghold, should my dog first be tested for heartworms? I'm surprised this question wasn't listed, nor does it mention it on the box as a warning... I unfortunately learned the hard way years ago with this very issue and lost my beautiful red doberman pinscher as a result, and since it doesn't require an Rx, I just had to ask.
